We value all winemakers who are committed to work with the lowest intervention methods and we are against “fake” natural wine.

We are the only natural wine fair in Spain, who request analytical data from all our exhibiting wineries for every wine they will showcase at our fair, and we also visit them to understand their reality on-site. We taste all the wines to ensure the quality of what will be presented at Vella Terra.

We know it is very easy to sell fake natural wine in the market, and only until there is clear labeling in the wine sector we have the responsibility to provide clarity to the end consumer.

All our exhibitors of Vella Terra must fit the following criteria.

Registration for Vella Terra: Natural Wine Fair

Organic agriculture/ Biodynamic agriculture/ Sustainable farming techniques/ No commercial yeasts/ Manual labour in the cellar /No chemical herbicides/ no pesticides or products with phosphonate / No cisgenic and transgenic grapes or the use of products derived from transgenics.

No filtering/ No clarification/ No added yeast strains/ No additives such as: wooden chips, powdered tannins, mega purple, lysozyme, malic acid, calcium carbonate, lactic acid/ No technical manipulations during production such as: reverse osmosis, flash pasteurization, thermovinification, heat treatment, tangential flow filtration, no microfiltration, microoxygenation etc/ No clarification or stabilization with albumin, casein, gelatin, bentonite or pectic enzymes.

Recovery and promotion of local varieties. The winemakers’ presence at the fair so there is a close engagement with the attendees

No added sulphites or the ultimate limit of doses of less than 30 mg/l which are reflected in the analytics.
