Registration & criteria for the Vella Terra natural wine fair

At Vella Terra, we value all winemakers who choose to produce wine with minimal intervention, and we stand firmly against “Fake” natural wine.

We are the only natural wine fair in Spain, and one of the few in Europe, that requires wine analysis from all exhibitors. We visit the wineries ourselves and have strict participation criteria, some of the most rigorous when it comes to natural wine fairs.

We know that until there is clear labeling in the wine industry, and as long as it’s so easy to sell fake natural wine in the market, those of us who organize fairs like these have the responsibility to provide clarity to the final consumer.

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA VELLA TERRA NATURAL WINE FAIR

IF YOU ARE A WINERY INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN VELLA TERRA, YOUR WINE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Organic or biodynamic farming with sustainable vineyard practices, manual work in the cellar, and no use of commercial yeasts, chemical herbicides, fungicides, phosphonates, or any cisgenic or transgenic material. No ingredients derived from GMOs.

No filtering or fining, no selected yeasts, and no oenological additives such as oak chips, tannins, lysozymes, acids, or other corrective substances. No technical manipulations like reverse osmosis, pasteurization, thermovinification, thermal treatments, micro-oxygenation, or microfiltration.

We promote and protect local grape varieties. All producers attend the fair to ensure direct connection. No added sulfites, or in rare cases, minimal levels under 30 mg/L, always verified through analysis.
